I’m Stella Sideli, and it’s wonderful to be able to share a bit about myself with you. I find myself with over thirteen years of experience in galleries and institutions across the UK, Europe, and the Mediterranean, where I’ve led on artist development, commissioning new work, and exhibition design.

Currently, I’m one of the founders and curator of Nuova Orfeo, an international film and performance platform. I’ve also curated at Somerset House in London, where I set up Gallery 31 in 2019, and worked as a programmes consultant at SPACE Studios, supporting a community of 900 artists across artist development, community, and public programmes.

I completed my postgraduate studies at Goldsmiths University of London, with a Master’s in Critical Theory and Practice, and have training in communication and semiotics, and a PGD from Birkbeck University on Arts Management and Policy. 

My deepest interests lie in the intersection of institutional programmes and feminist/queer theories, decolonial practices and ethics of curating, approaches and methods from the global south, the relationship between curator and artist, emerging technologies, capitalism, and the aesthetics of digital culture. You could say I’m a curious person!
